Believing how we deliver is just as important as what we deliver

At Shawflex, our vision is an Incident and Injury Free (IIF) workplace, with no harm to people while protecting the environment. Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) is underpinned by our HSE Management System (HSEMS). Our HSEMS is our playbook for how we work; the structured framework designed to ensure safe operations, maintain the health of our workforce and minimize environmental impact.

We focus on prevention

We adjusted our focus to improve prevention through hazard identification, safety observations, safety training and risk assessments. Our goal is to prevent serious injuries from happening by implementing preventive measures and initiatives.

Health
Shawflex is committed to providing employees with the support they need to manage and improve their overall physical and mental health and wellness.

Copper Mark Partner

Recently Shawflex got accepted as “a Copper Mark Partner”, which is the world’s first and only assurance framework for copper. Since 2019, the Copper Mark organization has worked to promote responsible production practices, in keeping with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. Shawflex prefers copper mining operations that are committed to meet and to be independently assessed against the responsible environmental and social production practices’ requirements of The Copper Mark. Shawflex is one of only a handful of cable and wire manufacturers to be accepted as a Copper Mark Partner

The Canadian Reel Return Program

This program used by Shawflex offers several benefits for the Canadian market:

  • Reduces waste by encouraging the return of used reels for reuse. This reduces the amount of waste sent to landfills and helps to conserve natural resources.
  • Reduces costs for both manufacturers and customers by allowing for the reuse of reels rather than requiring new ones to be purchased for each shipment. This can lead to cost savings for manufacturers, which can be passed on to customers in the form of lower prices.
  • Improves the sustainability of the wire and cable industry by promoting a circular economy model where resources are reused rather than discarded after a single use. This helps to reduce the environmental impact of the industry and ensure that resources are used in a more sustainable and efficient manner.
